What Will Sue Do?

We are now in one of the most unusual times in my lifetime. Our world has been changed with the invasion of a new virus called coronavirus or Covid-19. I will not focus on the virus or numbers of cases or deaths etc. because we are all keeping well informed with constant news from many sources. What I want to talk about is "WHAT WILL SUE DO".

When all of this started with the virus and the stay at home/quarantine/shelter in place/safe at home or whatever term is used I had many, many people ask me what was I going to do. I realize why they said this because I am known for going out to eat several times a week or shopping, getting together with my sisters, going to church etc. But let me tell you. I have felt such a peace about everything. I did have to buy some groceries because of eating out so much I had very little food. So I had to buy sugar, flour, meat etc. But I have not bought any toilet paper. I had just bought a large pack last month (18 roll pack) which normally last for 3-4 months. I didn't buy any hand sanitizer because I have some in each bathroom already. So although I have bought more groceries in the past 3 weeks than in the past year I have not overstocked or hoarded any thing.

I am very, very thankful and let me tell you why:

1. I have a home. A home that is paid for. It has heat, air, water. So no mortgage.

2. No job to have to go to. I worked for many years and have now been retired since 2008. That means I do not have to go out each day to a job. It also means I don't have a lot of money but as long as the Federal Government and the State of Tennessee does not collapse my income will stay the same.

3. Although I do have a car payment I am able to make it and to also buy gas for my car. And I can still drive which a lot of people my age no longer does.

4. I love to go to church and you will find me there when the church meets. But I am thankful I have the technical equipment and enough technical knowledge that I can watch not only my church service on my computer, kindle or phone but those of my children's churches and many, many others. Thankful I have the eyesight and hearing to enjoy this.

5. I love my family and miss seeing them but we are able to talk and communicate often by phone, Face-time, Facebook, Marco Polo, Skype, Instagram, Messenger, Twitter, Signal  and right now we are trying to set up for all of us to be able to use Zoom.  You may have other apps that you use but these are the ones I have available for me to be able to communicate with family and others. We would not of had this available to us a few years ago.

6. I have my grandson David living with me due to the change of his college classes being now on line. He has been going to the store, drugstore, dump for me. And also taking care of the yard which normally my grandson Matthew does.

7. Although I am in the age group and most vulnerable with underlying health problems to get the Covid_19 virus with only one kidney I am at peace.

I will do what has been recommended such as the handwashing, staying at home, distancing, avoiding eating out, not going to church. I pray that we all come through this pandemic without any of us  getting the virus or losing any loved ones because of it.

Again I am thankful because my life has not always been like this. I use to have to make a mortgage payment. I had little kids that had to be clothed and fed. I had a job as a nurse and had to go everyday into the unknown of what disease a  patient might have, I have had debts that if I did not have a job I could not pay. So I understand if you feel fear and panic.

My sister Mary gave me a verse the other day that should speak to each one of us:
Psalm 57:1 "Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee:yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast". KJV

And if that doesn't minister to you try the song "Didn't I Walk On The Water" Just a few words from that song. "Didn't I walk on the water and I calmed the raging sea, I spoke to the wind, it hushed and I gave you peace. Didn't I run to your rescue, didn't I hear you when you called. I walked right beside you just so you wouldn't fall.........

So now you know "WHAT WILL SUE DO".
